The Colington Yacht Club (CYC) will again sponsor a Youth Sailing Program this summer. This is a US Sail instructional program for young people ages 10 to 15. Youth will receive guidance from certified instructors supported by many adult volunteers. They will sail in our Optimist, Sunfish and Topaz boats and have an opportunity to participate in a regatta.
We know it is late notice but we had some obstacles to over come. Program will run four weeks through the month of July on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm and Fridays from 10 to 2pm starting July 6th and . Registration will be available here on the Colington Yacht Club web page.
The YOUTH SAILING CAMP will be held at the Harbour boat ramp Monday, Wednesday, and Friday .The course ends on Wednesday, July 26, 2022. There will be a regatta on Saturday, July 30,2022. Sailors need to bring their own life jacket and wear suitable clothing for sailing.
The 2021 Colington Youth Small Boat Regatta will be held:
- On Saturday, July 30
- At the Colington Harbour Marina
- Registration at 1:00 PM.
- First Opti Race at 1:30 PM
Youth Small Boat Regattas are for all youth ages 9 thru 16.
After the races there will be a cook-out with hamburgers, hotdogs, fixin’s and cold drinks for all.
Adults are asked to bring a dish to share.
